ESSCA Graduate School of Management

Differing from the traditional model of the French grande école, ESSCA has moved closer to international practices with an integrated five-year curriculum in the spirit of the European “LMD” structure—three years consecrated to mastering fundamental knowledge, developing structured critical thinking and discovering the workings of the corporate world—ESSCA students are guided in their choice of master’s programs to acquire a solid specialization in business and a genuine international, professional and cultural dimension.Created in the city of Angers in the west of France in 1909, ESSCA Graduate School of Management is now one of France’s top Management Schools offering programmes on two locations in France (Angers and Paris) and two abroad: Budapest, Hungary and Shanghai, China. Its flagship 5-year Grande Ecole programme leads to a Master’s degree in Management which has both national and European (EPAS) accreditation and is open to applicants of all nationalities. Educating students to work in an international environment is central to ESSCA’s mission. An international dimension is to be found throughout its teaching; the student body is international thanks to large numbers of exchange and international degree-seeking students and the number of international faculty, both permanent and visiting from partner institutions is continually increasing. All ESSCA students on the Grande Ecole programme must spend a minimum of one semester abroad, either studying or doing an internship and have the possibility to do both if they wish.
